The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the Ardahan TOBB UYUM Arbitration and Mediation Center Opening and Plaque Presentation Ceremony. Plaques were given to members who completed 40 years in chamber membership.

Speaking at the event hosted by Çetin Demirci, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ardahan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu pointed out that the work done here is a work of vision and said, “These are the works of a modern management understanding that aims to provide the best service to its members and enrich its city. I was proud of the fact that Ardahan Chamber of Commerce and Industry has realized these works, which are worthy of you, aiming to provide the best, highest quality service to its members.”

Emphasizing that Ardahan CCI is also an accredited Chamber, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “In other words, it has certified that it offers you 5-star service at European standards. Therefore, I would like to congratulate our Çetin Demirci President and his management from the bottom of my heart.” Explaining his views on the issue of arbitration and mediation, Hisarcıklıoğlu said: “Due to the excessive file load, the judicial system operates slowly. An average case lasts 2 years in the first instance court. Then it continues in the second instance court for another 2 years. At this point, alternative solutions have to come into play. Thanks to Mr. Cemil Çiçek, during his term as Minister of Justice, he took the initiative and introduced the mediation system. Mediation was made compulsory in labor-employer, commercial and consumer disputes and finally in rent disputes. We established the TOBB UYUM Mediation and Dispute Resolution Center to provide services to our community in this regard. The demand for this system has gradually increased and the number of files coming to mediation across the country has reached 6 million. In commercial disputes, an agreement was reached in an average of 20 days. In other words, cases that used to take years were settled in days or weeks. Thus, access to justice accelerated. Reminding that they had previously built a school with 16 classrooms in Ardahan upon the request of Çetin Demirci President, TOBB President said, “We had previously built a dormitory in Ardahan. Ardahan became the gateway of our country to the Caucasus and Central Asia with the Çıldır-Aktaş and Türkgözü Border Gates that we modernized here. Now Posof Apple and Beans, Ardahan Goose Meat, Hanak Wire Cheese and Kavılca Wheat are under protection. This will make a great contribution to the recognition of Ardahan's Cuisine. Our Chamber and Çetin Demirci President are doing works that add value to Ardahan. He pioneers innovations in Ardahan. He also brings every problem of you to Ankara and seeks solutions. We got results from a significant part of these. But our problems are not over, of course there are problems. We are constantly voicing these. We are trying to provide solutions. But let us always keep one thing in mind. When we are united and together, Allah gives mercy and blessings. As long as we do not marginalize each other. Let's not exclude anyone because of their ideas, beliefs and opinions. Let us know that we can overcome every problem with common sense and dialog.”
