The President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu met with the İstanbul Chamber/Exchange Presidents hosted by the İstanbul Commodity Exchange.

İstanbul Chambers and Exchanges Joint Meeting was organized with the participation of TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, İstanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) President Şekib Avdagiç, IMEAK Chamber of Shipping (DTO) President Tamer Kıran, İstanbul Chamber of Industry (ISO) President Erdal Bahçıvan. Rize Chamber of Commerce and Industry President and TOBB Board Member Şaban Aziz Karamehmetoğlu also took part in the meeting.

Stating that the İstanbul Commodity Exchange is a historical sycamore leaving 100 years behind, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “I am proud that we have a well-established and national institution like our İstanbul Commodity Exchange, which has shaped the economy with its history spanning 2 different centuries. Our Commodity Exchange has always stood by the traders, has been the voice of the traders, and has had a considerable impact on Türkiye’s achievement of its present strength. With a century of history, I am proud of our İstanbul Commodity Exchange for its experience and prestige, the projects it has implemented, and the work it has brought to our İstanbul and our country. I sincerely congratulate our President Mr. Ali Kopuz, the Board of Directors, the Assembly, our general secretary and all my working brothers and sisters. I offer my respect and gratitude to all our members who have brought our exchange from its establishment to today, who have served and worked here, and I remember those who have passed away with respect.”

Pointing out that the country is going through a difficult period considering the developments in the world, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “Together with our Chambers and Commodity Exchanges, we personally convey the problems you are experiencing to the relevant Ministers. Just in the last 3 months, we came together with our Vice President, Ministers of Finance, Interior, Trade, Labor, Health, Urban Planning and Energy. The Governor of the Central Bank attended the TOBB Board of Directors meeting. We conveyed to them all the problems and solution proposals we received from you, especially access to finance. I already work with our 4 Chamber and Commodity Exchange Presidents in İstanbul in Ankara. They bring us every demand and suggestion of yours. We transfer them to the relevant places. Now, together with my Presidents, we will take every issue you will convey to our agenda and follow up to provide solutions.”

- 100^th Anniversary message from Ali Kopuz

Ali Kopuz, President of the İstanbul Commodity Exchange, stated that they are celebrating the 100^th anniversary of the İstanbul Commodity Exchange and said, “These days, when we celebrate the 100^th anniversary of the İstanbul Commodity Exchange, which was established on October 19, 1924, have become much more meaningful with you. İstanbul Commodity Exchange has been one of the institutions that marked the first century of our Republic. ISTIB is at the center of the food sector in İstanbul, the economic capital of Türkiye. As the current board of directors and council members, we are proud to serve in the 100^th anniversary of this institution. We are working with all our strength to improve our member-oriented service quality.”
