The President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, pointed out that Manisa Mesir Macunu is the 28th product to receive a geographical indication registration the European Union and said in a statement on his social media account, “May it be beneficial to Manisa and our country. I congratulate everyone who contributed”.

In his assessment, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “We have a product diversity that is unique to very few geographies in the world. As TOBB and the Chamber-Exchange community, we are making intensive efforts for local and geographically marked products. Our work on 65 geographical indications and 6 traditional product names, which are in the process of the European Union, continues.”
