The President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, pointing out that Gaziantep Menengiç/Melengiç Coffee is the 29th product to receive a geographical indication registration from the European Union, said in a statement on his social media account, “May it be beneficial to Gaziantep and our country. I congratulate everyone who contributed.”

In his assessment, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “We have a product diversity that is unique to very few geographies in the world. As TOBB and the Chamber-Exchange community, we are making intensive efforts for local and geographically marked products. Our work on 66 geographical indications and 6 traditional product names, which are in the process of the European Union, continues.”
