The President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, shared a post on his social media account on the second anniversary of the February 6 earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş.

Hisarcıklıoğlu made the following statements: “It has been 2 years since the indescribable pain of February 6. On the first day of the earthquake, we took action and said #WeWillSalveOurWoundsTogether. Together with our Chambers, Commodity Exchanges, Sector Assemblies, Women and Young Entrepreneur Boards, we mobilized all our means.

Today, we continue to support with all our means. Within the scope of the protocol we signed with the Urban Transformation Directorate of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, we are building earthquake houses.

We are building schools in the earthquake zone within the scope of our ‘154 SCHOOLS IN 154 PROVINCIES’ project, which we launched under the coordination of the Ministry of National Education.

We must learn from our experiences and mistakes. Let’s not forget the reality of earthquakes in our country! In order not to experience the same sufferings again; We have no other option but earthquake-resistant cities and safe structures.

February 6, 2023 I pray for the grace of Allah upon our citizens who lost their lives in the earthquakes. May Allah protect our country and nation from all disasters.”
