The President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the Türkiye-European Union (EU) High Level Economic Dialogue (HLED) Meeting held in Brussels.
In his statement on
social media, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “Within the scope of the Türkiye-EU High
Level Economic Dialogue meeting held after 6 years, we held the ‘Türkiye-EU
High Level Business Dialogue’ event in Brussels.
The meeting was
attended by our Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek, European
Commission Economic Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis, European Commission
Commission Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Marta Kos and business
representatives from Europe and Türkiye.
We explained the
importance of Türkiye for the European Union at a time of increasing divergence
in global trade. We emphasized the Turkish business world’s demand for
modernization of the customs union for more trade and the need to solve the
problems experienced in visas.”
