M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), issued a congratulatory message on the occasion of Insurance Week, which will be held between September 29 and October 5.
Hisarcıklıoğlu stated
in his message:
“Natural disasters,
which are increasing due to global warming, technological and economic
developments, and our country’s geopolitical position, are increasing the
variety, frequency, and severity of the risks we may face every day. No matter
how strong its finances are, it is impossible for a business to bear the damage
caused by these risks alone. The most effective and easiest way to protect our
industrial facilities, commercial establishments, homes, vehicles, and most
importantly, our health, is to insure them.
Insurance is not a cost
factor, but rather a modern mutual aid system with historical roots, serving as
an effective shield of protection. Taking precautions against potential risks
in industrial and commercial enterprises and implementing effective risk
management through insurance coverage to manage these risks is of great
importance for business continuity and sustainable economic growth.
Technological
developments, new business models in local and global markets, and regulations
imposed by authorities have made the risks that may be encountered complex and
complicated. Therefore, when taking out insurance, all insurance coverage
required should be correctly defined in the policy, taking into account the
nature of the activity carried out, its location, and relevant legal and
administrative regulations. Our insurance agents provide 24/7 service with a
team of over 50,000 experts to identify the insurance needs of our businesses
and citizens and ensure that their risks are properly covered. Our impartial
and independent insurance experts make the most significant contribution to
ensuring that damage assessment processes are completed quickly and fairly.
Insurance agents and experts organized under the umbrella of our Association
within the Insurance Agents Executive Committee (SAİK) and the Insurance
Experts Executive Committee (SEİK) continue to be the guarantors of a sustainable
insurance system. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our
SAİK and SEİK Chairpersons and Committee Members for their successful work in
bringing the issues of our members in the insurance sector to the forefront in
every setting and ensuring that many of these issues are resolved.
The development of the
insurance sector, which complements all other sectors, will also contribute to
our country’s economic growth. Increasing insurance rates and coverage will
have a positive impact not only on the economy but also on social life. In this
context, I sincerely congratulate our insurance agents and insurance experts,
as well as our entire insurance sector, employees, and policyholders on the 14th
Insurance Week, which is celebrated with various events throughout the country,
and I wish them healthy and secure days.”
