The 23rd International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) was held in Thailand between the 22nd and 29th of July. Our country was represented by a team of six consisting of Asst. Prof. Dr. Fatih Demirci (Lead Contestant), Barış Kaya (Contestant), Buğrahan Şahin (Contestant), Erman Köseoğlu (Contestant) and Abdullah Alperen (Contestant) under the leadership of the TOBB ETU Education Staff Member Asst. Prof. Dr. Osman Abul.
The TOBB ETU team won the gold medal for us in the IOI for the first time in the 19 times it has been attended. The contestants who received medals are; Barış Kaya (Gold), Buğrahan Şahin (Silver), Erman Köseoğlu (Bronze), Abdullah Alperen (Bronze). TOBB ETU Rector Prof. Dr. Yücel Altunbaşak received the team members in his office, congratulating them and wishing for the continuation of their successes.
