Eurasia’s Informatics, Technology and Communication Platform CeBIT Informatics Fair has begun in the Tüyap Fair and Congress Center.
The opening was attended by the Transportation Minister Binali Yıldırım, Environment and Urbanism Minister Erdoğan Bayraktar, Science, Industry and Technology Deputy Minister Davut Kavranoğlu, TRNC Economy and Energy Minister Sunat Atun, TRNC Public Works and Transportation Minister Hamza Ersan Saner, Azerbaijan Communication and Information Technologies Minister Ali Abbasov, TOBB Board Vice President and Istanbul Commerce Chamber President Murat Yalçıntaş, KOSGEB President Mustafa Kaplan, Türksat Inc. General Director Dr. Özkan Dalbay, İş Bankası General Director Adnan Bali, Germany Education and Research Ministry General Director Prof. Dr.Wolf-Dieter Lukas, Smart Cities Platform (AKOS) President Şekip Karakaya, Deutsche Messe AG Board Member Wolfgang Lenarz and many guests.
TOBB Board Vice President and Istanbul Chamber of Commerce Board President Murat Yalçıntaş stated that Turkey has come a long way in the last 10 years in regards to technology in his speech.
Yalçıntaş said that though construction was the most prominent sector in Turkey until recently, in recent years informatics has become the most important sector in Turkey due to its effects on other sectors.
The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) and the Foreign Economic Relations Council (DEİK) have set up booths at the fair.
