Speaking at the opening of the “Innovative Ankara Project Market” event held in cooperation with the Ankara Development Agency and the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), TOBB Board Vice President Faik Yavur stated that the fact the event is being held in Ankara, nominally known as a public administration city, is indication that the industry in Turkey is headed to the right direction.
Science, Industry and Technology Minister Nihat Ergün reported that the techno-enterprise grant they grant to a 100 young techno-entrepreneurs each year would be increased to 500 entrepreneurs next year.
Stating that in the recent years during their visits to various countries, they’ve met with the representatives of important firms, Ergün said that the risk capital funds in the USA are used to support innovative projects.

Attending the event, Ankara Mayor Alaaddin Yüksel stated that cities aiming to become brand names keep an information-based society at their fore, “Smart cities encourage entrepreneurship. They try to fulfill the requirements of a sustainable development.”
Secretary General of the Ankara Development Agency Asım Balcı extolled the benefits to the event for unearthing the enterprising spirit of Ankara in regards to Turkey’s 2023 vision.
As part of the event, successful entrepreneurs, projects and firms were awarded the “Project Market Award”.
