The Meeting of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Cosmetics and Hygiene Products Industry Council was held via video conference with the great interest of senior representatives of public, private sector and non-governmental organizations under the chairmanship of Council President Ahmet Pura, with the participation of TOBB Board Member in charge of the Council Cengiz Günay.

President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu's greetings, stated that TOBB stands behind the
sector throughout the current situation, every problem expressed by the sector
representatives is valuable and is followed-up by them, and communicated to the
relevant authorities by TOBB and Turkey Sector Councils.
Council President Ahmet Pura, stating that
the sector which serves public health does not stop production during the
pandemic in the world and Turkey, said that they strive to deliver products to
people. Pura, noted emphatically that as a critical sector for hygiene products,
there should be no issues acquiring raw materials.
Sibel Gürer, head of the Cosmetic Audit Department
of the Turkish Medicine and Medical Device Institute, addressed the problems on
the agenda of the sector by evaluating the activities of TITCK.
Council Members noted in regards to agenda
items, referring to developments in the sector in the scope of the fight
against Covid-19, discussed the processes and demands of the Ministry of
Environment and Urbanization (GEKAP, TITCK and SEA Regulations), TITCK and
Public Health General Directorate regulations and applications regarding biocidal
products, alcoholic hand cleaning gels, cologne, detergent, soap and cosmetic
production situation and developments in the EU.
Another agenda item, the cosmetics sector
legislation and market supply applications were discussed at the meeting in
addition to the ÜTS product knowledge database security, the latest ÜTS update
and non-containing claims.
