TOBB provides hope to the unemployed

TOBB moves to address the need for skill in middle level professions. TOBB University of Economy and Technology (TOBB ETU) and the Austrian Chamber of Commerce and the Institute for Economic Promotion (WIFI) will be providing vocational training in the fields of metalworking, textiles and logistics through the newly established WIFI Turkey.​

 

- WIFI Turkey to follow Ability’10

One of the most important mass education programs TOBB ETU takes part in with the cooperation of the Labor and Social Security Ministry, National Education Ministry and TOBB is the Specialized Occupational Training Centers (UMEM) Ability’10 project.

As part of the contacts during the President Gül’s state visit to Austria, TOBB President and TOBB ETU Board of Trustees Chairman M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu and the Austrian Chamber of Commerce (WKÖ) signed an agreement regarding vocational training.

In this regard, a protocol has been signed for the establishment of the WIFI Turkey between TOBB ETU and the Institute for Economic Promotion (WIFI) in order to meet the demand for qualified occupational training courses in Turkey.

- First in Ankara, then Diyarbakır and Kocaeli

The courses will being in July in pilot provinces. It is projected that these provinces will be Ankara, Diyarbakır and Kocaeli. WIFI Turkey will provide education in the fields of design and production engineering, metalworking, textiles, logistics, management organization, establishment management, information technologies management and foreign trade.
