M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), traveled to Syria with an accompanying delegation to improve trade relations between Türkiye and Syria and to discuss the reconstruction of the country’s industrial and commercial infrastructure.

Hisarcıklıoğlu, who met with Syrian Minister of Economy and Industry Nidal Eş- Shaar, stated that they discussed cooperation opportunities. Hisarcıklıoğlu said the following in his message on the subject: “In the meeting hosted by the Syrian Ministry of Economy and Industry, we met with the Presidents and business people of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, ICC Syria, Damascus Chamber of Commerce, Damascus Chamber of Industry, Damascus Chamber of Commerce, Damascus Rural Chamber of Commerce and Homs Chamber of Industry. We evaluated bilateral trade relations. I would like to thank our Ambassador to Damascus Burhan Köroğlu for his intense efforts, interest and kind hospitality for the development of Türkiye - Syria trade relations."
