The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu published a message on the occasion of July 15th Democracy and National Unity Day. Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that they are always on the side of democracy, nation and state. TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu’s message is as follows:

“On the 9^th anniversary of the July 15^th, 2016 treacherous coup attempt, we have not forgotten and will not forget this dastardly attack on our country’s democracy and rule of law.

On the night of July 15^th, 2016, Türkiye showed that it will never accept as legitimate an administration that does not derive its power from the ballot box and its authority from the nation, and that it will not submit to any option other than democracy and the will of the nation.

On the night of July 15^th, as TOBB and the Chamber and Exchange community, we showed our reaction at the first moment and we were the first professional organization to take action and initiative against the coup attempt.

As TOBB and the Chamber-Exchange Community, we stand by democracy, our nation and our state.

As the Turkish business world, we pray for the grace of Allah upon the heroic martyrs of the national resistance who lost their lives in the fight for democracy, we extend our condolences to their precious families, and we remember our veterans with gratitude.”
