The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, emphasizing that labor-intensive sectors are in a difficult situation, asked for additional support.
Hisarcıklıoğlu, in a
statement on his social media account, “Our companies are Türkiye’s national
wealth. We must protect our country’s production, investment, employment and
export capacity.
I have repeatedly
stated that labor-intensive sectors are in a difficult situation. Additional
support should be given to labor-intensive sectors, especially
textile/ready-to-wear, leather/shoes and furniture. Facilitated short-time
working allowance should be reinstated as it was during the pandemic.
In order for our
economy to grow on a stronger and more sustainable basis, the real sector's
access to financing, with priority given to SMEs, should be facilitated.
Restrictions on commercial loans and commercial credit cards should be lifted.”
